Welcome to the website of the Finnish Viola Society!
The Finnish Viola Society (FVS) has been promoting viola playing in Finland for over 30 years with the purpose of bringing together Finnish or Finland-based violists, viola teachers and viola friends as well as developing connections within the international viola world.
Our society is a branch of the International Viola Society which functions as an umbrella body for violists all around the world. The FVS is one of the biggest and oldest viola societies with currently ca. 150 members.
We are constantly looking for ways to interact and collaborate with other viola societies as well as doing everything we can to help Finnish violists of all ages on their paths to becoming professional musicians.
The society is actively organizing events such as concerts, lectures and masterclasses. Our biggest event is the national viola competition, held every five years.

The info regarding the membership is here (Jäseneksi). The membership fee is 25€, or 12€ for students, unemployed and pensioners. The yearly due date is the 3rd of June, which is also when we celebrate the Finnish Viola Day!
